Pursuant to Code of Alabama (1975), §34-9-15 and Alabama Administrative Code, r. 270-X-2-.07, all licenses and permits issued by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama shall expire October 1 st of each year. This is NOT a new statute or board rule. The Board voted to return to the original date provided for in our state law to ensure statutory compliance as an agency.

July 10, 2023 – The Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama, responsible for licensure, monitoring, and ensuring the safe practice of dentists and dental hygienists in their service to the people of Alabama, today announced that American Council on Education (ACE) Learning Evaluations has evaluated and recommended college credit for the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program (17 semester credit hours). This credit award will begin with the 2023-2024 class and will include free transcripts and support services for transferability to universities.
